The motivations behind direction and advising give accentuation and solidarity to the instructive program. Some particular points of the school direction and guiding project incorporate the accompanying (Gibson, 2009): To Provide for the Realization of Student Potentialities To all understudies, the school offers a wide selection of courses and co-curricular exercises. A critical capacity of training is to assist understudies with recognizing and build up their possibilities. Each understudy needs assistance in arranging his significant course of study and example of co-curricular exercises. To Help Children with Developing Problems Indeed, even those understudies who have picked a fitting instructive program for themselves may have issues that need support. An instructor may need to spend from one-fifth to 33% of his time with a couple of students who need a lot of support, which denies the remainder of the class from the teacher’s complete consideration to their necessities. The guide, by helping these youths to determine their challenges, liberates the homeroom instructor to utilize his time all the more proficiently. To Contribute to the Development of the School’s Curriculum Counselors, in working with singular understudies, know their own issues and goals, their gifts and capacities, just as the social weights defying them. Advocates, thusly, can give information that fill in as a reason for educational plan improvement, and they can help educational plan engineers shape courses of study that all the more precisely mirror the requirements of understudies. Time after time, guides are excluded from educational program improvement endeavors.

Christianity and Intelligence Reed College has been generally viewed as a grounds with a professional skeptic feeling and an enemy of strict viewpoint of the world. Shirts that show the seal of the school publicize agnosticism as an idea of vital significance. The point of this mental examination was to decide if understudies of Reed College certainly connected Christianity with unintelligence and skepticism with insight. Various Implicit Association Tests (IAT’s) have been utilized to decide if individuals have basic predispositions toward specific racial or social gatherings. In light of the speed of reactions when related with some ethnic gathering, one can decide exactly what kind of concealed predispositions may exist in the psyche of the subject. Particularly interesting for this situation is the possibility that Christians might be interpreted as less shrewd than skeptics on Reed’s grounds. How does this interpretation, if present, influence assorted variety at Reed and the acknowledgment of different social and strict gatherings? Is there a specific degree to which people who appreciate strict convictions are disregarded because of their relationship with Christianity? This examination will decide if this affiliation, if existent, is unequivocal or understood, or both. Utilizing an IAT, we will give different words related secularism and Christianity notwithstanding words related with insight and idiocy. My speculation is that there will be a sure level of hidden predisposition that sees Christians as less insightful people than nonbelievers. As it occurs, it would be intriguing to talk about and investigate different modes that may restrain assorted variety at Reed. Is there a certain relationship with Republicans and non-insight? With technology becoming more and more prevalent in todays society, we as humans have developed newer ways to evolve our communication around these new technologies. Yet with all of this, older problems such as bullying have evolved to now encompass a new playing field that is, Social Media. As social media continues to evolve, the amount of cyberbullying increases and it’s a problem that is getting more and more out of hand daily. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Cyberbullying in Social Media" essay for you Create order Although social media is a great basis to communicate with people around the world, it is now being used to intimidate and harass people with what seems to be no repercussions. Yet although it may seem this way, this is not entirely truthful but before diving in we must first understand what is cyberbullying and how do people become cyberbullies. According to Stop Bullying, a government website dedicated to preventing bullying, cyberbullying is the act of bullying someone over devices such as â€Å"cell phones, computers, and tablets.† while using any messaging service on said devices. Its not just messaging someone that could be considered cyberbullying but also sharing content that can harm or is â€Å"mean† also falls under this category. The Department Of Health and Human Services created this website over the many concerns with cyberbullying, some of which being that it is very hard to detect and it can occur almost anywhere online. This can especially affect children in schools who can potentially access this kind of information online without any teacher or parent taking notice. There are measures being put in place to prevent this such the blocking of certain websites to prevent the access of potentially harmful websites, but cyberbullying doesn’t just affect children. Institutions of higher educa tion are also taking steps to investigating the prevalence of cyberbullying among the many students. The article titled â€Å"Cyberbullying in higher education: A literature review† by the authors Lynette K. Watts, Jessyca Wagner, Benito Velasquez, Phyllis I. Behrens studies the prevalence of cyberbullying in colleges and how people may become cyber bullies. According to the authors, one of the main factors of cyber bullying is the ability to remain anonymous making it â€Å"even more attractive than traditional bullying†. Without having to be in someone’s face, cyber bullies could falsify their identity and bully someone for a very long time without the worry of someone knowing who they truly are. This could make people want to bully others more without the worry of repercussions since their identity is hidden. Its not just anonymity but also psychological issues that can contribute to people cyberbullying. In the same article, the authors refer to a study done by Dr Bulent Dilmac, who studied 666 students and their traits and predicted whether the student would be prone to being a cyberbully. Dilmac found that traits such as the ability to understand another person and aggression were predicted as having â€Å"engagement in and future engagement in cyberbullying†. While on the contrary, Dilmac predicted people with traits such as endurance to be more exposed to cyberbullying but not actually become one. It was lastly found that bullies lacked sympathy and emotional support, which was why they used social media to attack others; while victims of cyberbullying were found to understand others better and be more empathetic which in turn resulted in them not cyberbullying others. (Dilmac 2009) Now understanding why people tend to bully others, its also very useful in understanding what happens to the victims and how likely they are to bully others and how parents and society can have an impact. The article titled â€Å"Comparing Cyberbullying Perpetration on Social Media between Primary and Secondary School Students.† By authors Shirley S. Ho, Liang Chen and Angelica P.Y. Ng researches how cyberbullying can affect children and adolescents, specifically in Singapore and how parents and normality’s contribute to this. In this article we are introduced to two different parental ideas, Active Mediation and Restrictive Mediation. Active Mediation being the idea that parents help children by understanding that they are using the internet as a way to communicate and teach them how to use the internet in a safe manner. According to Ho, Liang and Ng this method was â€Å"found to be effective in equipping children with the skills and knowledge on responding to danger ous situations while on the internet†. While Restrictive Mediation, which is the idea of putting restrictions on the websites children access and the duration they’re allowed on it, was found to have a â€Å"negative correlation†. The second idea presented is normality’s or as referred to in this article, norms. The certain norms introduced in this text are but not limited to, include injunctive norms and descriptive norms with injunctive norms being â€Å"the general consensus of for socially acceptable behavior† (Ho, Liang, Ng). While descriptive norms while very similar is the idea of â€Å"rules and standards† (Ho, Liang, Ng) that everyone follows but isn’t necessarily a law. It found then according to Ho, Liang and Ng that among 635 primary school students and 789 adolescent students that using the two types of mediation and understanding the normality’s that there was a â€Å"negative association with cyberbullying perpetration†, meaning there was sufficient data to say that the students wouldn’t become cyberbullies. This in turn allows us to reach the conclusion that those who were taught how to take caution on the internet can find themselves less likely to be bullied and those who are getting bullied to be less likely to do it to someone else. In conclusion, cyberbullying among social media is a very serious matter and one that extensive studying and research has allowed us to better understand. Understanding how certain factors in one’s life can contribute to the possibility of becoming a cyberbully, can help us make better decisions and help teach children how to avoid this and how to not become one. While there isn’t exactly any legislation that is helping contribute to the end of cyberbullying, through these two articles we can see that there is a way for us to end it, all it takes is for everyone to stand up to it and stop cyberbullying. ? Philippine Insurrection - 828 Words

â€Å"Imperialism in America† For a brief period of time, America became the exact thing it once strived to defeat: an imperialist. The moment the Treaty of Paris was signed on February 6, 1899, America became an imperialist. America was divided on the issue of imperialism. Some said that imperialism was wrong because it was against everything our nation was founded upon. Others saw imperialism as a chance to exploit people and land to earn power and prestige. The following paragraphs will explore America’s experimentation with imperialism in the Philippines. During the Spanish-American War, America outright won Puerto Rico and Cuba by defeating the Spanish in each area. At the end of the war, the Spanish were not defeated†¦show more content†¦By this thought process, we were doing them a favor by making sure they would not go to hell. Liberals were strongly against imperialism. Liberals are strong believers in benefiting lower classes, and a war for i mperialism was not going to help the lower classes. In fact, the lower classes would be exploited and sent to fight the war, possibly giving their lives for something that would not help them at all. Having a strong, defensive military would also mean imperialism was not necessary. With a defensive military we would not need to patrol the seas, thus removing the need for gas stations and military bases. Gas stations and military bases were an objective of imperialism, and if we do not need them, imperialism is not needed, either. Liberals did not believe in forcing a religion on anyone, either. It was morally wrong to do so, and it was not supported by the liberals during the Philippine Insurrection. America’s acquisition of the Philippines was a very controversial issue in America. Though liberals and much of the country did not support imperialism, America became an imperialist anyway. The Machine, which controlled the government and economy, saw their own personal gain in imperialism. Sure enough, they influenced America to become imperialists. When does the Mind start working Free Essays

Parents generally say that about their children that they will not start realizing the significance of things until they reach a certain age. Does that mean that they need to accumulate enough experience before they can start drawing meaningful patterns in their minds and form connections between things as suggested by Hume ? But, at the same time is this arguments based on to Descarte’s assertion : â€Å"I think, so I exist†, which implies that the mind thinks intuitively, about itself, and thereby brings into existence the significance of events around it and the connection between them through reason. Here lies a problem of what precedes which, or a circular tautology. We will write a custom essay sample on When does the Mind start working? or any similar topic only for you Order Now If human minds do not start working until getting or becoming experienced, how are the early experiences registered and translated as the basis for future ? Part of the problem is however related to the different ways in which the mind can itself be defined. Is the essence of the mind just pure conscious awareness, as suggested by Descartes. Or is it a product of gradual evolution with the passage of time, as it experiences events and reflects upon them, to reach a level of awareness. It is however quite possible, that the mind that Descartes describes is different from the mind that Hume describes when he says, ‘‘All inferences from experience, therefore, are effects of custom, not of reasoning. † How to cite When does the Mind start working?, Papers

Christians and The Environmental Ethics Essay Example For Students

Christians and The Environmental Ethics Essay An environmentalist is a person worships the environment and cares for nature more than people. Christians and others share the common perception that environmental ethics exist for how human beings should relate to the land, the free market perceptive and the environmental perceptive. Humans share a relationship with all creations of the earth. But as humans, they find themselves as having a role in the created order which is they have a closer relationship with the creator who has charged them with acting responsible within his creation. Even allowing a common complaint of environmental activists is that Stewardship means that the earth was made exclusively because of human beings that having dominion upper nature is the same as having the power and directly of domination. Christians consequently share a close relationship by means of the whole of aspects of creation, since in relation to the environment, its unbroken humanity, not unbroken nature, thats seen to be the problem. Stewardship in simple terms means to manage someone else’s property. Christians proclaims that everything belong to God, so as Christians, we need to have the attitude that our belongings are his belongings. As stewards, we have the responsibility of being in charge of the earth. We have been placed in charge and are responsible for whatever happens to it, even though it does not belong to us, as we all know it belong to God. In Genesis 2:15, God took man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to work and take care of it. Christian’s duties as being a responsible steward need to manage God’s belongings to the best of their ability. Only the Christian has the proper foundation for understanding peoples true responsibility to ca. . We accept the challenge to work at restoring God’s overall design. Moved by faith in God, we commit ourselves to promote the healing that rises at one as well as the other private and environmental levels from integrated lives dedicated to serve God and humanity. Death Of Ivan Ilych By Tolstoy Essays - 19th-century Theatre

Death of Ivan Ilych By Tolstoy Leo Tolstoy, born in Russia in 1828, wrote The Death of Ivan Ilych. The story was written eight years after Tolstoy's spiritual conversion and was inspired by his own brother's death. The Death of Ivan Ilych has several ironies expressed in the story. Ilych expressed his denial, anger, depression and acceptance towards dying very visibly. Ilych expressed denial of his condition when he laughed about his accident. Ilych was explaining to the upholsterer how he wanted the drapes to hand and he slipped off the ladder. He hit his side against the knob of the window frame. He told his wife it was only a bruise. Since he was fairly athletic, he said he did not get seriously hurt, but if it had been any other man they might have been killed from the accident. Within a short time, Ilych's condition became more intense and it was decided that he needed a second opinion because he was not getting any better. He thought the doctor did not know what he was doing, but this was not the case. He needed an excuse for his failing health. His celebrated doctor diagnosed him basically with the same symptoms his first doctor had. This did not make Ilych very happy. Ilych was expressing more and more anger because of hid declining health. While in his home, Ilych was always blaming Praskovya, his wife for everything. At the dinner table, he complained about the food not being prepared correctly, he did not like the way his daughter's hair was styled, and he even blamed her if their son put his elbows on the dinner table. His wife suggested getting a famous specialist to come see him, regardless of the cost. Ilych said no. She kissed his forehead and said' "Good-night. Please God you'll sleep." As she kissed him, Ilych hated her so much he wanted to push her away but did not. On another occasion, Ilych was angry with everyone about everything and was upset because they did not pity him. He overheard them enjoying themselves and not including him. He was so angry and began choking with unbearable misery. He was even angry with himself and thought no man should have to suffer in this manner. He tried to calm himself and find a way to rationalize the whole situation. Ilych's condition caused him to express a great deal of depression. Deep in his heart he knew he was dying but could not get used to the fact. He began to sleep less and less and was given Opium and hypodermic shots of Morphine; the drugs did little to calm him. The special food fixed for him became tasteless and was sickening. The butler, Geraim's assistance, would make Ilych as comfortable as possible. One evening Ilych moved his legs from Gerasim's shoulders, turned on his side and felt sorry for himself. He wept like a child because of his helplessness, loneliness and anger with God. He felt God had forsaken him. Ilych lost all hope on life and was so depressed he questioned God as to why was he doing this to him. Ivan finally expressed the acceptance of his condition. He would no longer lie in bed but instead he would lie on the sofa all the time. He began to ask himself the same question over and over, "what is this? Can this be death?" His conscience, or inner voice said to him "yes, it is death." His wife began to remind him about taking his medicine. He became upset and told her, "for Christ's sake, let me die in peace!" The doctor came to visit him as scheduled and one day he told the doctor, "you know you can do nothing for me, so leave me alone." Ilych told him that he could not even ease his pain so let him be. He struggled and suffered with severe pain for three days and would scream hopelessly. Suddenly he knew what was happening to him and wanted to release himself from suffering.

Free Essays on Astrophel And Stella Free Essays on Astrophel And Stella Which is the main topic of Sir Philip Sidney ´s sonnet â€Å"Loving in truth, and fain in verse my love to show† ? Sir Philip Sidney gave this poem, which first line is â€Å"Louing in trueth and fayne in verse my loue to show† , the title „Astrophel and Stellaâ€Å". Astrophel is the name of the main character, the writer himself. He loves a woman called Stella and writes this poem for her to declare his love in it. But what is the main topic of his poem ? Is it really only to tell Stella about his love ? Or is it his desparate desperate to put his love in words ? Having a closer look to the poem, I will find this out in the following. Stella, the woman Astrophel adores, is married to another man. Therefore she is not available for him. But as he is not able to just switch off his feelings, he wants to write them down. But already in the first verse there is a hint that it doesn ´t come easily to him: â€Å"Louing in trueth and fayne in verse my loue to show† (line 1) . â€Å"Fayne† just means that he is trying and really desiring to bring his thoughts to paper but that he doesn ´t manage it so far. Although Stella is married Astrophel doesn ´t stop hoping. If he just succeeded in writing her a poem and if she liked it then maybe she would also fall in love with him. (â€Å"Pleasure might cause her reade, reading might make her know.† (line 3) ). He even goes that far: Knowing about his feelings would cause her feeling pity for him and she would stay with him because of pity or grace. (â€Å"Knowledge might pittie winne, and pity grace obtaine.† (line 4) ). But he only can think about such things and doesn ´t know how it really would be, as long as he cannot solve his actual problem: Put his feelings in words. The Director of CIA works as a National Human Source Intelligence Manager (HUMINT) (FAS, 2009, 1). The history of intelligence activities in United States started in the period of George Washington but since World War II these activities are properly coordinated and directed by government. For this purpose, a New York lawyer â€Å"William J. Donovan† was appointed as the first coordinator of information. He then became the head of the Office of strategic Services (OSS) in 1942 when US entered in World War II. The responsibilities of OSS were to collect and analyze information. However, it was dissolved after World War II along with other agencies and the functions of OSS were transferred to state and War departments (DNI, 2011, 7). After some time, President Truman (The US President of that time) felt the need of Intelligence organization and decided to create a separate intelligence agency of United State. Truman, under National Security Act 1947, established Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).... These staff includes the human resources, protocol, public affairs, legal issues, information management, and mission innovation (FIA, 2009, 1). VISION The Agency has a vision to secure the world from threats. The vision statement of CIA is â€Å"One Agency. One Community. An Agency unmatched in its core capabilities, functioning as one team, fully integrated into the Intelligence Community† (CIA Website) The statement clearly reveals the future direction of CIA. The agency wants to be the unmatched intelligence agency in the world. It wants to create secure and peaceful environment in United States. It wants second to be none. MISSION & GOALS OF CIA â€Å"We are the nation’s first line of defense. We accomplish what others cannot accomplish and go where others cannot go. We carry out our mission by: Collecting information that reveals the plans, intentions and capabilities of our adversaries and provides the basis for decision and action. Producing timely analysis tha t provides insight, warning and opportunity to the President and decision makers charged with protecting and advancing America’s interests. Conducting covert action at the direction of the President to preempt threats or achieve US policy objectives. † (CIA Website) The mission of CIA reflects the true picture of intelligence. The agency is number one in providing intelligence services. Its primary purpose is to collect the information which is against the peaceful environment and interest of America. The agency also analyze the information in order know the hidden threats and then convey it to the US official decision makers. Finally the agency implements the action plans according to the direction of decision

Panasonic Company Analysis Marketing Essay 1. Panasonic Corporation (PC) formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd was founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita and is headquartered in Kadoma, Osaka, Japan. The company changed its name to Panasonic Corporation in October 2008. This is a Japanese multinational corporation where its main business is in  electronics manufacturing and it produces over 15,000 different products under different names including Panasonic, Technics, Sanyo and Ramsa Professional Audio Systems. From the information given, Sanyo became a subsidiary of Panasonic on December 21, 2009. It has been 82 years since the company first established and it has successfully grown to become the largest Japanese electronics producer. Other than manufacturing electronic and electrical products, Panasonic offers non-electronic products and services such as home renovation services. According to the Forbes Global 2000, Panasonic was ranked the 89th largest company in the world in 2009 but it has dropped t o 444th largest company in 2010. Besides that, Panasonic was also ranked the 65th worlds largest corporation by FORTUNE Global 500 and is among the  Worldwide Top 20 Semiconductor Sales Leaders. Today, the company operates in many countries around the world and employs nearly 384,586 people. Panasonic Corporation has been a proud supporter of the Olympic Games for more than 20 years as an Official Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Video and Audio Equipment category. Panasonic is comprised of 14 business domain companies which have over 680 companies in the world. This company offers a variety of products and services such as manufacturing and selling electronic and electric products, systems and components for consumer, business, and industrial uses around the world. The company also offers video and audio equipment, information and communications equipment such as security system, electronic products, Internet-enabled equipment, flat-panel and plasma TV series, blue-ray disc and DVD recorders, digital video cameras, personal computers, and mobile phones. Besides that, the company also offers an automotive electronics, including car navigation systems, engine control units, and batteries. It also produces home appliances which consist of refrigerators, room air conditioners, washing machines and vacuum cleaners, coffee maker, dish washer, microwave oven, bread maker and steam iron. Furthermore, the company manufactures, sells, installs, and prov ides services related to various products that include electrical construction materials, home appliances as mentioned before, building products, electronic materials, and automation controls. In addition, it also provides semiconductor products such as electronic devices, batteries, and electric motors for usage in home appliances, industrial equipment, and office products. In conclusion, it serves consumers, industrial and business corporations, governments and other institutions by producing electric and electronic equipment, automotive manufacturers as well as other machinery product. 2. Panasonic is one of the worlds largest consumer electronics manufacturers. Its products such as home appliances are well known in Malaysia too. Lets discuss about the macro environment such as demographic, economic, natural, technological, political and cultural forces in with the company that operates according to the invested country. Demographic characteristic such as age, sex, marital status, personal income, occupation and education are basic factors that affect the market of the products in a particular country. As we know, products needs often vary with the consumer age. For example, most of the home appliances manufactured by PC is often used regardless of age groups, starting from the birth of a new baby which uses fans or air conditioner to a women who uses kitchen products such as refrigerator. Besides that, gender has always been the important factor in the market of the products. According to the research, it has been found that women were purchasing the Panasonic Sha ver as gifts for men in Canada. This suggested that the market targets females with the age of 35 and above. Regarding the economics status of the country such as India, The Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association have said that the industry in this field has posted a 30 %growth in the first quarter ended March 31, 2010. While flat panel displays registered a growth of 70 %, air conditioner sales increased by 50 % and home appliances business grew by 40 %. Due to the great marketing opportunities for home appliances in Indian, Panasonic India plans to invest around USD 30 million over the next three years to establish itself as a home appliances leader in the country, as quoted by the Panasonic India Marketing Director Manish Sharma. According to the information given, Panasonic India is currently the market leader in plasma and LCD TVs, with a 48 % share of the 3.6 million-unit flat TV market. Besides that, the flat TV panel sales have grown 250% over the last year, thus reflect a very good consumer response in India. However, currently this Japanese firm is looking for methods towards increasing its market shares in home appliances such as refrigerators, air-conditioners and washing machines while maintaining its position as a leading TV player.  Moreover, Panasonic India target to garner 15 % share in the washing machines market from the current 5 % over next two years. Panasonic is also re-working on its pricing strategy. It wants to roll out newer models, which will cut down the entry-level price of other products like home theatre and digital camera. The price is brought down by shedding unnecessary product features which may not be required in the smaller towns in India. On top of that, Panasonic Corporation is not only a manufacturer for consumer products, it is also concern about the environment as well. As we can see, Panasonic strives to be a Green Innovation Company with a global perspective by promoting environmental activities defined by eco ideas Declaration which was issued in October 2007 . There are a few activities that have been carried out by the company such as partnership with WWF(World Wildlife Fund) , Lights-out Campaign, Tree-Planting Activities, Recycling Activities, eco ideas House , eco ideas Factory Modal Transportation Shift and Panasonic Eco Relay. Regarding the recycling activities, Panasonic, together with Sharp Electronics Corporation and Toshiba America Consumer Products established Manufacturers Recycling Management Company, LLC (MRM) which is in charge of the recycling of electronics. Furthermore, this company has pledged to reduce its global carbon footprint by 300,000 tons by 2010. Panasonic has also pledged to vastly increase the number of energy-efficient products it makes. To increase the energy efficiency of the products, basically the company focuses on improving the power efficiency in use and standby modes by reviewing the products basic circuitry such as use of advanced designed circuitry known as 3-Terminal Intelligent Power Devices (IPDs). With this, the IPDs for the power supplies results in the reduction of about 81% compared with conventional models. The IPDs also represent a resource and space efficient chip configuration since everything in the modern world is concerned with miniaturization. In fiscal 2010, Panasonic Corporation has developed ECO NAVI (eco-navigation) functionality to increase the energy efficiency of their products. Equipped with this function, air conditioners will optimally control the airflow volume and room temperature by identifying the positions of people, furniture, and the volume of sunshine for the most energy-efficient operation. The same thing goes for washers or dryers where it conserves energy and water by discerning the amount of the clothes and how dirty they are. Other than that, the new model of US style side by side fridge-freezers is an example of energy-efficient refrigerator. The technology using for this kitten appliance is Panasonics Inverter technology. There are U-Vacua vacuum insulation panel and Twin-Eco Cooling System. Basically, they use a system of sensors and microprocessors to select automatically from multiple possible power levels, allowing the product to run on minimal power overnight and at times of low usage, thereby conserving valuable energy.  With the advanced technology implemented, the company has produced more than 445 ENERGY STAR qualifying products which is more than any other manufacturers.  From the information given, this company has received recognition for seven consecutive years (1999-2005) for ENERGY STAR award. In a political view, the company may have to deal with the political interferences that may be practiced by different country. According to research done, political systems of nations affect the conduction of businesses, for example some countries may practice collectivism while others may practice capitalism political systems. For instance, the UK government practices capitalism in that it allows factors of production to be privately owned by the company and the government performs only limited duties that the private sector cannot be executed unlike in communism and collectivism that stresses on group goals rather than the individual goals. Fortunately, Panasonic UK which is a private property and have vast of capital has no restrictions if the company insists future invests into that country. Besides that, the way the company operates in terms of operating rules of law and regulation is an important factor that affects its marketing as well. For example, how Panasonic Company deal with the legal rules in the UK is important because it can prevent conflicts from happening and will enhance the success of the businesses as well. The company is engaged in legal business practice of marketing electrical products which consist of home appliances, televisions, hi-fi that is permitted by the UK Laws and also must agree with the law stated by invested country too. Lastly, when dealing with the cultural difference in different country, Panasonic provides different types of languages for the user manual in different countries. Taking Malaysia as an example, the user guide for the home appliances has two main languages that are Malay and English while in Spain, the main language on the user guide will be in Spanish. 3. If I were the boss of the Panasonic Corporation, I will continuously invest in identifying and using more sustainable materials and develop a new technology with the aim to produce energy efficient and environmental friendly products. Through this, consumers benefit through energy savings and lower electricity bills. Besides that, advertisement or campaign regarding eco ideas must be done so that people have a clear idea on what is it about and perhaps this may raise the awareness in taking care of our environment and introduce our energy efficient products to them. Perhaps, reviewing the unnecessary features that are not required in certain small town or country and thereby reducing the cost of the product so that most of the demographic can afford it is also a good approach. Last but not least, I will further invest into big markets such as India and the Russian Federation. As we can see from the research done, India has a very good response in home electronic products, and henc e, further investment may the increase the growth of the company. The reason for choosing Russian Federation as one of the investment country is because of its population and targeted consumer, where it has 141,927,297 populations and the ratio of male to female residents with the age between 15 to 64 years is 0.92%. This will be our targeted custormer. However, further research on its economic and political status need to be done if I were to invest in this country.

Introduction: Palm Fiber Wall as Good Insulator

INTRODUCTION Nowadays, there are many innovation to build a container which can prevent heat lost faster. But most of them are made from polymer material which are not easily decompose when its become waste material after finish use it. As we know, the world is facing with a big problem about the waste product. The increasing in waste product will lead to hazardous pollution. As the world getting older the waste product continue to increase. And as the waste product increase our world will be in a danger situation.Regarding to this situation, we as a concern citizen will try to save the earth by using waste product in our daily life. So, we try to use a waste product from palm plant which is palm fiber. Malaysia growth over 1 billion palm tree all over the country especially in Sabah. Sabah was labeled as the richest land of palm plant. Palm fruit is used as fuel especially cooking oil. Palm fruit actually not only is use to produce cooking oil but every part of the palm tree has the ir own uses. After making some observation, we find that palm fruit can be divided into three main layer which are mesocarp, shell and kernel. Shell and kernel is a replacement for firewood while mesocarp contains fiber that we need for our experiment. To get the fiber from the mesocarp, the Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) is keep in an specific oven and steamed with 240 oC temperature in 80 minutes. Then, the FFB is transfer into a ‘Treasure Machine’ to separate its Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) and the palm fruits. The palm fruits contained oil, nut and mesocarp. The oil, nut and mesocarp will be extract from palm fruit by using ‘Screw Press Machine’ with specific pressure and temperature. Now, only the nut and mesocarp left. The mesocarp is the part which contain palm fiber which is used in our research.. In palm factory, the nut and the fiber are used as a fuel. The structure of palm fiber that is very light and can absorb a lot of heat without congealing that makes it more suitable to be made as heat insulator.Additionally, it also can withstand extreme temperature and moisture condition that fulfill the properties of heat insulator. Besides, it is non hazardous biodegradable material extracted from oil palm empty fruit bunch. It also clean and free from pesticides. So, with all the benefits of palm fiber we can create a good heat insulator container compare to the polymer container. By finishing this project, we have create an eco-friendly invention that can reduce the pollution in our world. Therefore we also create a cheap product which can be use in our daily life.

Internet and Traditional Books

I. Title Library vs. Internet II. Introduction Students are often unable to distinguish appropriate from inappropriate resources. If the information is not available on the internet, it does not exist for them. Librarians and faculty express concern that students do not know how to adequately evaluate the quality of information resources found on the internet. Both  web-based  and traditional  library  resources are useful when conducting research. Each have their own particular strengths and weaknesses. Conducting research is something that every student will eventually have to do. Research projects are done in English class, in foreign language class, in social studies class and in science class. The sooner students are able to master the skills required for conducting research the better off they are going to be. The two most common places to find resources for research projects are in the library and online. Many thousands of web pages exist, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet instead of a traditional library. Many of these are personal opinions, with the authors ranging from commercial sites to professional organizations. By limiting their research to the internet, students are ignoring the books, journals, databases, full-text digital resources and other scholarly materials provided by the library. In many academic libraries, use of print resources is decreasing. Use of video and other media appears to be increasing. Ignoring library resources in lieu of web resources may imperil the quality of student learning. You may find instructors who do not allow their students to use web resources in class projects for this very reason. Faculty can have an enormous influence over student choices for research resources. However, the Internet and the Web should not be disregarded as valuable research tools. With proper training and cross-referencing, both can be highly effective and efficient means by which students locate information. As computers are becoming more common in schools and homes, students and teachers are becoming more computer literate and Internet literate. The library is the traditional place to conduct research for a school research project. Libraries contain a large collection of books, periodicals and multimedia resources. They also have live people there called librarians who are available to help you find the information that you need. Libraries also give you the opportunity to read hardcopies of the reference materials that you use and they have photocopying machines available to students so that they can take home a copy of the information that they need. Libraries are established for the systematic collection, organization, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and information. It is very important for man to preserve and maintain the valuable knowledge and information contained in the books and documents because we want to preserve our knowledge and wisdom for the coming generations. By preserving the documents in a library this knowledge can be made available to others so that they can benefit from it. Establishment of libraries is not a new concept. The oldest library dates to around 2700 years ago in Sennacherib's Palace in Nineveh which shows how long ago the concept of leaving a piece of your wisdom behind started being formed into the organized collection to preserve the work. While libraries are wonderful resources for a variety of reference materials, they do have a few limitations. First of all libraries are not usually open 24 hours a day seven days a week. This means that your access to the research materials is limited to the hours of operation of the library. Secondly, the books in a library can be somewhat out-of-date, particularly in smaller libraries. Finally, libraries can be crowded and access to reference materials, computers and other pieces of equipment can be limited by the number of people who also need to use those items. Internet research  is the practice of using the  Internet, especially the World Wide Web, for  research. The internet is widely used and readily accessible to hundreds of millions of  people  in many parts of the  world. It can provide practically instant  information  on most topics, and has a profound impact on the way  ideas  are formed and  knowledge  is created. The Internet solves many of the problems associated with conducting research in a physical library. First of all students have instant access to reference materials 24 hours a day seven days a week. Students also do not have to travel to get to the reference materials that are found online. This means that they can find references for their research project any time and it also means that they can access these references from anywhere that has a computer an Internet access. Finally, the Internet provides students access to multiple databases and sources of information, many of which are not going to be found in a library. Common applications of  Internet researchinclude personal research on a particular subject (something mentioned on the news, a health problem, etc. ,  students  doing research for academic projects and papers, and  journalists  and other  writers researching stories. It should be distinguished from  scientific research  Ã¢â‚¬â€œ research following a defined and rigorous process – carried out on the Internet; from straight forward finding of specific info, like locating a name or phone number; and from research  about  the Internet. Co mpared to the Internet, print physically limits access to information. A book has to be identified, then actually obtained. On the Net, the Web can be searched, and typically hundreds or thousands of  pagescan be found with some relation to the topic, within seconds. Just like a physical library the Internet has research limitations. The first limitation is based on the student’s ability to access a computer, electricity and Internet access. The second problem is that not all information found online is good information. There are a lot of websites that have inaccurate and incomplete information. These problems can be overcome by focusing research efforts solely on websites that are run by government or other authoritative organizations or by using databases that hold peer reviewed journals. Many predict that the digital age will wipe public bookshelves clean, and permanently end the centuries-old era of libraries. As libraries' relevance comes into question, librarians face an existential crisis at a time when students need them the most. User demand is ever increasing and putting a great pressure on the librarians. Therefore, there is an imperative need for the modernization of libraries in order to keep pace with the modern times. The new challenges in the field of Library and Information Science can be met by adopting the process of digitization and networking. In the present age the Librarians have to face many problems due to the limitations of time and space. User satisfaction is the main objective of a good library. It cannot be achieved without adopting the modern tools and techniques rendered available by the modern technologies available in the field of Information and telecommunication. These developments have led to the creation of Digital and Virtual Libraries, which have great advantages over the traditional libraries. Therefore, digital libraries are becoming popular due to the advantages and facilities, which are offered by them to their users. III. â€Å"Accuracy is another area where the Internet information and library information are dissimilar. Before information reaches a library, it is filtered in three ways: (a) it is written and/or issued by an authoritative source such as the federal government or a reliable organization; (b) it is authenticated as part of an editorial or peer review process by a publisher; or (c) it is evaluated by experts, reviewers, or subject specialists/librarians as part of collection development (Brandt, 1996). In a library, the information is then selected, reviewed again, evaluated, and catalogued. The information is selected for specific purposes and specific reasons to be included in a section. Information on the Web has no evaluation criteria. Anyone can publish anything on the Web. It is important that teachers and students do not take information found on the Web at face value. Facts and figures should always be cross-referenced with other resources. † — http://www2. hawaii. edu/~nguyen/web/literature1. htm

Marxist Theory On Capitalism And Communism - 1468 Words

MARXIST MATERIALISM Marx was a philosopher and economist. He developed the concept of materialism to study the material things in society, i.e. the economy, that shape and affect the social life of individuals. Marx studied the work of Hegel, however rejected his predecessor’s focus on ideals because he recognized an essential connection with the problems of society and individuals and the material conditions of the society (Ritzer 2011: 21). Marx employed materialism in two facets of his theoretical work, historical materialism and dialectical materialism. Materialism is a central component of Marx’s study of Capitalism and theoretical development of Communism. Historical Materialism Historical materialism serves a dual role in†¦show more content†¦The statement encapsulates the tenets of historical materialism and is a major Marxist critique of Capitalism. Marx finds throughout history, specifically written history, the economic conditions of given time-periods created social orders that reflected the conditions. Societies have typically organized a two-party social class system, assigning an individual based upon their wealth and role in economic and social structures. Marx simplifies the relationship of the classes as that of â€Å"oppressor and oppressed† throughout history and societies, and highlights the perpetuation of inequality based on the class system (50). Industrialization and capitalism established a society of Bourgeoisie and Proletariats, the former the owners of the means of production and the latter the workers. Marx formed the labor theory of value to mirror the doctrine of political economists like Adam Smith. The labor theory of value attributes all wealth and value in Capitalism to the labor of the
